Citro-C Tablets

Citro-C Tablets

Composition
Each tablet contains Ascorbic Acid 100mg

Actions
Vitamin C is essential for the synthesis of collagen and intercellular material. Humans are unable to form their own ascorbic acid and therefore need dietary supplementation.
The deficiency of Vitamin C leads to the development of scurvy, anaemia, and slow healing of wounds.

Indications
CITRO-C is taken daily to supply the required amount of ascorbic acid needed in the body and to prevent or treat the characteristic symptoms associated with Vitamin C deficiency. CITRO-C also produces a reduction in the severity of colds, promotes wound healing, and prevents anaemia.

Dosage and Administration
One or two tablets of CITRO C can be taken several times a day up to a maximum of 10 tablets per day, or as directed by a physician. The tablets can be chewed, sucked, or swallowed.

Warnings/Precautions
In patients with renal impairment, very large doses of Ascorbic Acid may result in excessive urinary excretion of oxalate, and the formation of renal calcium oxalate crystals.

Side Effects
Ascorbic acid is generally well tolerated. However, taking very large doses may cause irritation of the stomach, tongue and mouth.
